INTRODUCTION

Floriculture Research Center of the University of Kelaniya was established in November 2015 at Henarathgoda Botanical Garden, Gampaha and the project was funded by district Development Fund of Gampaha District secretariat.

The project was implemented with the view of addressing the issues pertaining to the current floriculture industry of the country, which have been identified during several stake holder meetings held with the officials of the Ministry of Economic Development, Gampaha district Secretariat, Export Development Board, department of Botanical gardens, other relevant organizations, and plant growers.
